You can Import / Export a cache using File -> Import / Export Alembic.
The only Alembic format supported is Ogawa, the Legacy format HDF5 is not supported.
Any object contained inside the alembic file will be preserved when you export the file out. ie: curves, locators, joints, … Only meshes are displayed on the viewport and cameras on the outliner, everything else is ignored but sustained by the app.
